When working hard means not working at all, it's about ethics, baby.
Standing at 6'2" tall, Becket Kyle was the reincarnation of Heath Ledger himself -if you’re into handsome blonde Australians. He was eye candy and a great motivation to come to work, for all the women I the office. And although he pretty much had all the women in the office, they couldn't get enough. I was one of the ones that hadn’t been manipulated. But without knowing Becket, at first glance, he was royalty, and with a second look, anyone could see that he just possessed something regal. His presence could call forth kings and queens that could only beg to bow before him. He owned every room he walked in, and just the echo of his voice heard from a nearby cubicle intimidated all who listened. Contrary to his indirect social skills, everyone loved him, he was nice when he needed to be and made everyone feel wanted. But oh his playboy ways and arrogance, it was like you couldn’t love him without hating him. Plus, he had somehow forced his way into the manager’s heart. And yet, with all that beauty he held oh so tightly in his ever so masculine hands, he was the father of every lazy being that ever dared to walk into a workspace. Well, at least for the first half of the day.
I got to see this guy work every day, and I mean work. Since I was little I’ve always wanted to prevent any type of danger. I stood for the safety of all people. I was the security guard that had been promoted to the surveillance room and our motto was “Surveillance Safety”. I was highly trained for the job and although I was fairly attracted to Becket, I wouldn’t let his presence on my screen stop me from doing my job.
Becket was love-able on all levels, when you felt threatened by him, twisted enough, you liked it, loved it even. With him, you couldn’t have one without the other. He would belittle you and then in an instant belittle someone in front of you and then seek your affirmation followed by a compliment that made you feel adequate. He had a way with words and often had his fellow co-workers complete his jobs for him. It was weird to me though, he’d be this way all morning long and then right after the lunch break, he’d be all work efficient and the most helpful on the floor.
The way he treated people, in such a bipolar stance, was almost unheard of. For all anyone knew, he was an only child and his parents spoiled the shit out him, which is the reason he was the Becket that he is.
